There are three different types of orders in ServiceMonster:
Estimate – Before a customer has committed to the job.
Work Order – Customer has committed to job.
- Invoice – After the job has been completed.

Creating an Order
Let’s try creating an Order for the Account that you just created. To create an order, click on the New Order button in the Account.
- The best practice is to save the order when you create it to assign an order number. Choose the order type you would like to create and then click the button in the top left hand corner. An order number will be created automatically.
- Notice that the Lead Source has been copied from the Account. Orders created after the initial order will have a blank Lead Source; choose one when creating an order.
- Assign a Sales Rep by choosing one from the drop down menu.
- The next step is to add line items
Line Items
- Add Lines – Adds 5 lines.
- Quick Add – Choose multiple line items at the same time.
- Add Package – How do I create a Package?
- Clear All Lines – Deletes data from Line Items.
- Item – Choose Product or Service from drop down menu or type in field.
- Description / Qty / Price – Generates from Line Item Defaults or can be edited.
- Amount – Automatically multiples Qty by Price.
- Tax – Check box if item is to be taxed.
- – More options.
Note & Totals
- Note – Public notes that will print on Order Forms. Limited to 1024 characters.
- Discount – Add discount percentage for order.
- Created – Generated when order is created.
- Review – Add order to Review List.
- Posted – Used to note that order has been transferred to QuickBooks.
- Tax Rate – Choose a tax rate for the order. Any line items with the tax box checked with be taxed. How do I add a Tax Rate?
